LAWYER WEIDMAN TEACHES OTHER ATTORNEYS AT BAR ASSOCIATIONS
A LAWYER WHO IS PUT UP IN FRONT OF OTHER ATTORNEYS AND JUDGES TO TEACH THEM AND TO WRITE HAND OUT "HOW TOS" MAY VERY WELL KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING. YOU DECIDE!!!!
LECTURES GIVEN: I gave lectures listed below at various Long Island Bar Associations. Each lecture included publications by me about the related subject for use by lawyers, judges, doctors and others in their practice. I did this for prestige and respect and not money. I am very proud of this. After each lecture, each Bar Association sold the tapes of me and the other speakers throughout New York and elsewhere if requested so that other attorneys can learn from my experience.
Some of my lectures and talks to large groups are:
1/12/00 - "Handling a Personal Injury Case from Start to Finish" 10 Part Series
Part VI - The Practice & Forensic Scope of Medical Physicians and Doctors
of Chiropractic. Queens County Bar Association. Organized lecture book and published an article. Lectured about forensics, occupant kinematics and threshold. This relates a lot to auto crashes and accidents and the rights of victims.
10/15/98 - "Anatomy & Neurology of Pain in Soft Tissue Injury - Part VI."
Basis Brain Anatomy and a Mock Trial of a Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (MTBI) Resulting from a Car Accident. Suffolk Academy of Law. The article includes a forensic analysis and mock trial of Mild Traumatic Brain Injury and the myths associated with it. I did it with a doctor in front of former Suffolk Supreme Court Justice Gerard D'Emilio.
5/20/98 - "Hidden Post-Traumatic Disabilities." Suffolk Academy of Law.
Spoke about range of motion dysfunction of neck, back and limbs, TMJ, fibromyalgia and MTBI (brain injuries) with a medical doctor, a neuropsychologist and a TMJ (jaw injury) expert who was also a dentist.
2/4/98 - "A Practical Guide to the Practice of Law - Where Law School Endsand the Real World Begins." Trial Lawyers Institute in New York City.
10/23/97 - "Anatomy & Neurology of Pain in Soft Tissue Injury - Part V"
Legal and Medical Anatomy of Herniated Discs, Bulging Discs & Spinal Degenerative Changes. Suffolk Academy of Law. a division of the SUFFOLK COUNTY BAR ASSN (SCBA) is a comprehensive legal and medical analysis of traumatic disc ruptures, herniations and bulges and those awful back and neck injuries and pain. I had fun here with cadaver pictures and slides. I clarified both medical and legal confusion over real meaning of "degenerative changes" to a certain extent
3/13/97 - "Anatomy & Neurology of Pain in Soft Tissue Injury - Part IV"
Cervical Whiplash, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Jawlash & a Primer on TMJ Injuries. Suffolk Academy of Law. Topic - whiplash, TMJ, thoracic outlet syndrome and settlement amounts and case values awarded by various juries after trials.
10/2/96 - "Anatomy & Neurology of Pain in Soft Tissue Injury - Part I"Cervical Whiplash A misunderstood Anatomical and Functional Epidemic Causing Permanent Injuries. Suffolk Academy of Law.
Along with Dr. Richard Willis and anatomy professor Dr. Paul Cadolino, I introduced the concept of whiplash, human spinal anatomy and the conditions caused by spinal injuries. I addressed engineering crash test studies, and wrote the hand-out materials for all participants. We analyzed and attacked the problem of paper peer reviews by carrier consultants. I wrote an article about legal and medical concepts disfavoring peer reviews and explained how commenting on spinal injuries in the absence of a complete physical exam and medical history is complete junk science.
3/5/96 - "Anatomy & Neurology - The Physical Exam: A Step-by-Step Discussion of Spinal Anatomy; Normal and Abnormal X-Ray Findings with a Demonstration of a Complete Physical Exam. Suffolk Academy of Law.
Moderated this lecture and presented basic anatomy and a live demonstration of clinical chiropractic, orthopedic and neurologic tests to show spine injuries. A physical exam was done. Used cadaver slides drawings and anatomical models. Discussed legal and medical issues with the audience. Used overhead projections, x-rays, and computer illustrations of spinal biomechanics. Worked with Dr. Anthony DiBlanda and anatomy professor Dr. Paul Cadolino.
10/24/95 - "Anatomy & Neurology of Pain in Soft Tissue Injury" A Seminar on Spinal Anatomy and Soft Tissue Injuries for Personal Injury Attorneys and Medical Professionals. Suffolk Academy of Law.
Subjects included basic spinal anatomy, including that of herniations and bulges, as well as a critical attack on the fallacy of maximum medical improvement in no-fault cases. Also addressed was spinal disorders and the law on medical hearsay and physical exams. Wrote legal research materials for participant handouts. Worked with Dr. Richard Willis, who provided medical footnotes as part of the handout. Primary author of materials.
